How will emerging technologies address our local and global challenges?

On Monday, March 11, 2019, we hosted a day of conversations and presentations on how emerging technologies are addressing our local and global challenges. We’re doing it again in 2020 so stay tuned for what comes next.

What happened in 2019?

We live in a time of disruption as technology transforms everything in our lives from how we live, to how we work to how we connect with each other. Business models are changing too and of course our communities are at the epicenter of the evolution.

Flexibility, versatility and productivity will define our era. Those that are ready to adapt to consumer demand will prosper. Those that don’t will soon become a part of the “digital rust belt.”

This one-day event in Austin presented a convergence of the major themes facing our leaders on local and global levels. We showcased emerging technologies (AI, 5G, IoT +) as well as the innovators who are developing new approaches.

The Reeperbahn Startup Pitch, the most successful and attention-grabbing event of the startup scene in northern Germany, presented startups from Germany, the Netherlands, and the U.S. on a stage at 2019 ‘The Future Of ____’ Event. Founders presented innovative solutions to real-world challenges while living out their entrepreneurial rock star dreams, gaining access to a challenging panel of international experts.

The Reeperbahn Startup Pitch and the "Hamburg Startups" Delegation was powered by Hamburg Invest, Deutsche Bank, Sutor Bank, Beiersdorf, Lufthansa Industry Solutions, EY and Vast Forward.

EXPERT ‘JUDGEs’ Panel

We assembled a panel of global experts and investors who provided feedback, questions and guidance to the startup founders after each pitch. This was invaluable advice - so everyone wins! No losers here…
